Police Wrongly Tell Woman Her Husband Died in Motorcycle Collision-ABC news

When officers told Melody Halls, 31, that her husband died early Tuesday morning in a motorcycle accident, she went immediately to the first stage of grief: denial.

And she was right.

Two Alberta, Canada, police officers and a grief counsellor arrived at Halls's Medicine Hat, Canada, home and told her to sit down. Once they asked whether her husband had tattoos, they told her he'd been killed in a 1 a.m. collision, Halls told ABC News.
"As soon as he said that, I knew something was wrong. ... I'd seen my husband at 7 a.m.," Halls said. "It was instant disbelief because it's the worst thing that anyone can ever say to you -- that your husband has been killed this morning."
Halls' husband has tattoos on his forearm and calf, but the officers told her the accident victim had tattoos on his stomach and back, strengthening Halls' conviction that her husband was alive.

Halls led the officers out to the garage.
"Sure enough, the door to our shed was open and the lock was missing off of it," she said.
The motorcycle and helmet were gone.
Police determined the motorcycle had been stolen, and the thief -- whom police have not yet named, but Halls said was a neighbor -- died in the accident.

"Although efforts were made to identify the victim of the collision based on the information available at the time, the Medicine Hat Police Service sincerely apologizes for the distress that was caused to the family of the motorcycle owner, when they were incorrectly notified," Medicine Hat Police Service Deputy Chief Richard Wigle said in a news release.

The service will be reviewing its next-of-kin notification practices, according to the police statement.
With officers in and out all day, Halls had to tell her 9- and 10-year-old children about the mix-up. They were mostly shocked at the thought of losing their father, she said.
As for her husband?
"He's really upset about his motorcycle being stolen more than anything," she said. "And that somebody died crashing it."
Halls said she isn't mad about what happened to her, but she wishes the police asked about the last time she'd seen her husband before doing anything else. She said she accepted the police chief's apology on one condition: "as long as this never happens again."

Kick-Off Today-Euro 2012 Football Championship Starting with Two Matches

Today 8th June, 2012, the first day of Euro Football Championship is opening with two matches Poland starting the tournament against Greece and other opening games including Germany v Portugal, Spain v Italy and England v France.

Poland team will launch the tournament on Friday 8 June at 18.00 CET against Greece in Warsaw followed by the other Group A opener between Russia and the Czech Republic at 20.45CET.

The next day the Netherlands will meet Denmark in Kharkiv and Germany take on Portugal in Lviv to begin Group B, and on 10 June Group C starts as holders Spain face Italy and the Republic of Ireland play Croatia.

For the last of the opening, 11st June, set of fixtures, Ukraine is in a meeting with Sweden in Group D in Kyiv after England tackle France in Donetsk. The group stage runs until 19 June, then, after a rest day, the quarter-finals take place over four consecutive nights. The semi-finals are on 29 June in Donetsk and the following evening in Warsaw, before Kyiv stages the 1 July decider.

When is Father's Day falls this year [2012]?

Hello friends,

This year 2012, Fathers Day falls on Sunday 17th June, 2012. In the USA, UK and Canada - Fathers' Day is celebrated on this day as I have mentioned above.

In Australia and New Zealand, fathers are honored the first Sunday in September. This year, 2012 is on 2nd September. 

As far as I know, In Thailand - Thai people celebrate their Fathers' Day on 5th December of every year. To mark the king Bhumipbol's Birthday. Thai government declared the 5th December, king Bhumipbol's Birthday, is as National Father's Day. It's also one day-off of 13 days of the whole year calendar in Thailand. 

Well, one of the reasons for setting a day apart to emphasize the role of father in the family. So, I hope that in every families, should celebrate and join some activities together to build more warm and firmness for this special day, the only one time in a whole year!

Dad might not say what he needs. But we can make our dads to SMILE.

Synopsis

Snow White's (Stewart) mother passes away and her father is killed by Ravenna (Theron), a woman who posed as a poor prisoner when he was tricked into battle by the Dark Army. Beauty, remarries. She assumes the throne along with her brother Finn (Sam Spruell) and the Dark Army. For fifteen years, Snow White is kept prisoner in a tower in the castle, but when the queen learns through her mirror that Snow White (who has now come of age) is now the fairest in the land, she orders her brother to kill her. Snow White manages to escape, but since her village has been ravaged by the Dark Army, she is forced to flee into the Dark Forest in order to find Duke Hammond's castle because he is the only person that could help her regain control of her kingdom.

The huntsman was quick to locate Snow White in the Dark Forest, but learns through Finn that he had been tricked by the queen and she did not intend in keeping her promise to him. Infuriated, he fights off Finn and his army and agrees to help Snow White in her quest to find the duke's castle,but is still unaware of her true identity.

After a near-death encounter with a troll, Snow White and the huntsman come across a village of refugees where they decide to stay for a night. Upon discovering Snow White's true identity, the huntsman leaves, but returns when he realizes that Finn and his army have set fire to the village. This is when the movie takes a strange turn. Snow White and the huntsman are captured by eight dwarves, but they manage to convince them to help them evade the Dark Army. The dwarves lead them into the Sanctuary which is basically the complete opposite of the Dark Forest, full of enchanted animals and fairies. After fighting through a few more obstacles in their path, Snow White and friends, along with the duke's army, battle it out against the queen and the Dark Army.
